One could liken the Mind/body Instrument or Consciousness to eyes (I) that are born blind and which over time, through the tempering rays of love and light which are the true Self, gain sight.
The eyes or 'I" of Mind/body Consciousness is like a mirror in that the more it is tempered, the more it will reflect the true Self operating behind them.
The mind/body is not sentient in and of itself. One could say that Mind Consciousness has the conscious level of the body itself. It has an awareness of Being in that it responds to the direction of mind, but it has no intelligence of its own. The mind dictates what the body does, and the body responds. Likewise, the true Self dictates what its instrument as Mind Consciousness does, firstly through the laws of its own Being such as Karma (See Hermetic Principles) and then through intuition once Grace (Alignment of Being) has been established. The mind/body instrument is basically insentient Consciousness – which as paradoxical as that might sound, is merely an instrument for the true Self to shape into its image, in order to use as an avatar in mental/physical dimensions of Being.
In short summary of what has been asserted thus far; lifetime after lifetime, year after year, the Manifest Instrument that is Mind Consciousness is fashioned into the likeness of Spiritual Consciousness Aka true Self that of course is Unmanifest.
Therefore, what is intuition? The true Self - the Alpha forgetting itself through in the fall from Grace, within the Omega (Mind/body), looks out through the instrument Aka the blind eyes or blind 'I’, that over time has slowly been gaining sight. While blind the Alpha or Consciousness of Spirit imagines itself to be Mind Consciousness - limiting itself to its dualistic properties of mind that cause it to suffer. This suffering is what tempers and purifies the Mind to take on the likeness of Spirit. Being separated from the truth of our Being is naturally painful and this pain will not cease until the true Self has been established within the Temple of the Most High.
In reiteration of these very important principles above, the Soul looking out through the I Consciousness of Mind can only see as clearly as the evolution of said instrument being tempered lifetimes after lifetime, will allow.
To begin with, the True Self forgetting itself, looks through the I Consciousness of Mind - falsely believing it is the mind through lack of Spiritual insight. However, over time, as the mind begins to be moulded into the likeness of its true Self as Spirit, - through Self-Reflection and then meditation/mindfulness, the Soul begins to gain sight, seeing that is it not Mind Consciousness as it originally 'thought' but Spiritual Consciousness behind itself as Soul (Am) being Spirit (I).
Bear in mind there the Soul is like the body. It is not sentient in and of itself being the body of Spirit. It is Spirit that is our true intelligence and Soul that is our true Love. Love is the true expression of true intelligence. Together they spell wisdom. Together they are the true Self as ‘I Am’. Spirit being I and Soul being Am. The mind born in its image, is Conscious Mind (thought) being I and the Subconscious (Body of thought) being Am. So, never make the mistake of separating the I of Spirit from the Am of Soul. They are One - just as the reflection of Mind Consciousness eventually becomes One with the true Self through its evolution of Being. Hence the name of God being I am that I am. I am Spirit/Soul that I am Mind/body.
This is why many a guru will tell you to stop looking outside yourself and to look within yourself or behind yourself. Really it is neither in or behind, for looking it not how the true Self is seen - it is through 'knowing' that the true Self is realized. It is with the I of the Conscious Mind that the I (Eyes) of Spirit is 'Known'.” Be still and know that I am” – Psalm 46:10
The true Self imagined for a time that the mind/body were sentient due to looking through it, as it. The Self now sees that is it not conscious AS the mind but is conscious OF the mind. This is why we can watch ourselves think. If we were the thinker this would not be possible. Logic and reason - being the rudimentary faculties of Mind Consciousness, is testimony to this alone for those without the sight to truly see. Once realization hits that I am not Mind/body Consciousness but Spiritual Consciousness, thinking changes to knowing. For the instrument thinks, while the true Self knows being omniscient.
So, intuition - in-tuition - tuition from within is what then? Is it an accumulation of prior knowledge gained AS an instrument? Or is it the knowing omniscience of Spirit working through the instrument, teaching it - moulding it into its likeness? Bear in mind the true Self is never limited by Mind, it is always in all ways unlimited, unfettered, and free in and of Thy Self. However, when working through Mind/body Consciousness it puts on what seems to be apparent limitations. To the Omega in and of itself without knowing itself as the Alpha - this would seem very limiting indeed. To the Alpha which is the true Self behind ALL manifestation - the complete universe and beyond - one is not limited at all in expression. I am all being all things at once. Time and Space are but illusions Aka limitations of Mind that does not know itself as Spirit.
Of course, it cannot be the former for the mind is not sentient, is it? So, it must be the latter. The mind/body are merely the eyes (I) of Spirit - Thy true Self, that once was blind but now can see. Can YOU see? Or are you still blind to Thy Self? Thy true Self behind the I of Mind. If so – be still mentally and KNOW that I am.
