People falsely believe there is a thinker behind their thoughts - that their Soul is making and creating all their thoughts. That is not the case. The Soul (Awareness) which is the activity of Spirit - the true Self, has nothing to do with the creation or origin of one's thoughts. Egoic thoughts (90% of world thought) is created by the Mind cut off from its Source like a branch from the vine, not the Soul (Awareness) which is the activity of Spirit (Consciousness).
The Conscious Mind aka the Inner I is thought. Maharshi calls it the primary I-thought, for all thought originates from it. These thoughts are collectively superimposed onto the Subconscious, which is the reincarnating vessel or instrument for the Soul of the Son, that is itself an instrument for the true Self - the Unmanifest. The Soul of Son and the Soul of Spirit are one and the same thing. The only difference is, the Subconscious is a reflection of Soul and not the Soul itself in the same way the Son is a reflection of the Father aka Spirit. Moreover, the Soul of the Son, is only a part of the Soul. The part the Son is conscious of therefore has dominion over. Every lifetime sees the Son (Incarnate Spirit) have more dominion over the Soul as it realizes its true Self in greater measure.
The Conscious Mind aka the Inner I, rolls out of the Subconscious like a wave when it rises in thought. When thought is true, meaning when thought originates from Spirit, it moves through the Soul and into the Subconscious where the 'Inner I' stays rather than rising in thought, allowing it to receive its Intuitive Mana - Daily Bread that guides it in the mental and physical dimensions. This is why it is imperative not to take thought but to sit in and as Present Moment Awareness waiting for intuitive guidance as one is guided through the synchronicity and serendipity of the true Self. If the Inner I has risen in its own self-generated thoughts, it rises out of its Temple as Present Moment Awareness and into maya - the delusion of illusion.
Everyone's Subconscious collectively constitutes the present moment. So long as the Subconscious is under the dominion of the Son in its egoic form, the natural purity of the Subconscious, being the vessel or instrument of Soul that is directed by Spirit is lost due to the misdirection and distortion of Ego thoughts. This impurity causes a negative feedback- loop that causes the Inner I to continue rising in thought outside its Temple. This is why it is imperative, to purify the Subconscious, so that the Inner I can rest in its peace, thereby allowing the true Self to act upon it. The true Self cannot act upon the Son if the Son (Inner I) is not in its Temple due to rising out of it in its own self-generated thoughts.
Egoic thoughts destroy, distort, and delay the natural flow of Spirit working through the Soul/Subconscious and out into the world. When the Subconscious has been purified and is able to hold its Presence in the Now of the Subconscious, one is then fully aligned with all aspects of their being multidimensionally. In other words, they are living under and as Grace.
The only way to purify and stay in one's Temple, is to stop taking, creating, following after, and dwelling in thought generated by the Inner I and to stay as present as possible in the moment. This is what is meant in the biblical verse "Be still (mentally) and know that I AM" (Psalm 46). When the Inner I is in the Temple, it first becomes conscious of the healing and purifying the Vasana's (Subconscious tendencies such as redundant core beliefs etc) that hold it in bondage, causing it to rise in thought, lifetime after lifetime. In doing so it is able to remain in its Temple at peace which allows it to become conscious of and realize the fruits of Spirit.
To stay in one's Temple, allow your mind to become a single open-ended thought, that is present in and of BEING AWARENESS. Your Inner I - the Minds I is your Presence of Being. It must combine with the Awareness of the Present Moment. One first becomes Conscious of themselves as the Awareness of the Subconscious, then as the Soul itself behind the Mind. This is the activity or the true Unmanifest body of Spirit - one's true and eternal Self. The way to stay present in and of the moment is by focusing the mind - discipling it to stay present. When it is your season to purify and stay present in and as Present Moment Awareness, the Awareness needed to pull you as the Inner I out of thought in order to stay thy Temple will come to you.
Therefore, be present in the moment while lovingly experiencing life through the senses. I say lovingly as 'Being' must be felt, it cannot just be thought. Feeling is Awareness - Soul which you must bring the Inner I to stay present within. This is how you experience yourself as Awareness, first as the vessel then as the true Self. Allow your mind to be thought through, as opposed to creating thought itself - meaning allow thought to be given rather than taken. Allow Awareness to bubble up from within until you are conscious of the intuition given, then allow that intuition to fall back into the subconscious in the creation of a world the true Self intended.
The essence of meditation is Awareness. It is being conscious as Mind of yourself as Awareness which is Soul. Soul being the body of Spirit IS the present moment. Awareness is the essence of meditation which is another way of saying Soul is the essence of Mind when in its correct state. Therefore, as mind Consciousness, be aware of your true Self as Awareness/Soul. Be conscious of being Awareness. Let the Consciousness of Mind marry the Consciousness of Spirit through the Subconscious/Soul. This is done in small steps. One day you are present for one minute, the next two minutes etc. Then we go backwards and are not present at all. Then we move forward again being present for five minutes etc. Gradually, one's experience of being Awareness happens more and more until such a time as you as lose yourself in Thy Self as Spiritual (I) Awareness (Am).
