You're going to get so much wrong as a parent - so much. Just as your children are going to get so much wrong growing up - so much. But that's okay because between parents and children there is love and love makes sense of everything - it also heals everything. Love is I am sorry; Love is leaving little notes for our loves one to find, simply saying I love you or there's cake in the fridge. Love is giving each other the freedom to make mistakes, grow from them, and then carry on doing much the same because none of us are perfect and life is hard.
What IS perfect though, is the love we have for each other as family. Our ability and desire to understand our children outside any expectation we have of them, or any condition put upon them, is golden. No one can be the perfect parent or child - because perfect people do not exist. The love between us does though. Love your children like you do the moment by being deeply present. This is the true gift, because it teaches them to be deeply present themselves.
