MY RESPONSE TO NATURALISM:
Consciousness is recognized in absentia, so to speak. In Christian mysticism it is called the "via negativa", the way of negation or subtraction. In certain schools of Buddhism, it is pointed at with the phrase "neti neti", not this, not that. Consciousness is not an experience but that which UNDERLIES all experience. Consciousness is what remains when the imaginary Experiencer is no longer there to experience anything mental, emotional, or sensible. All that to say that Consciousness can never be "experienced" as we normally use that term. We can never EXPERIENCE Consciousness. We can only BE Consciousness. Always and forever.
